Manhole Covers

Manhole covers are used, for example, for access to well shafts, spring water chambers or pump shafts. They can also be used as access solutions to sewer manholes or technical installations rooms.

Stainless steel manhole covers are corrosion-resistant, maintenance-free and very durable. This gives planners and operators the security of using a manhole cover that will still function perfectly decades from now.

The term "surface-watertight” means that the manhole cover is protected against the ingress of natural precipitation such as rain or other surface water that occurs without pressure.

We speak of a flood-proof cover when it is flooded, for example, by high water. The manhole cover remains resistant to water penetration up to a certain water column. A backwater-proof manhole cover prevents water from penetrating from the inside of the manhole to the outside.

Manhole covers should be manufactured according to "DIN 1239 - Coverings for wells, spring water chambers and other water supply construction - Principles of construction”.
