HUBER has implemented the first ideas of school children

Visiting the colony of bees is interesting for children and adults.

Dr.-Ing. E.h. Hans Huber encouraged all pupils and teachers already at the official park opening to think about ideas for the new park. He underlined that the park would be intended for the public and everyone would be welcome to bring in ideas. The recent first official tree planting has certainly not been the last park development project in cooperation with children and teenagers. The wooden panel the school children had handed over as a gift when the park was opened has meanwhile been installed in its place and another of their proposals has already been implemented: A colony of bees has found its home in this green idyll.

Upon the proposal of HUBER SE the company Spangler from nearby Tögung gave us a bee colony as gift for our long-term cooperation. The colony has about 6,000 worker bees and a queen bee and lives in a display cabinet which can be opened from both sides so that everyone can experience first hand what happens inside a beehive. There is a lot to do for the bees: They pollinate the planted fruit trees and many other flowers and plants. They can be sure to have found a good permanent home in the Huber-Natur-Park. Spangler GmbH has also erected nine display boards which inform visitors about these special insects. Under a "maintenance contract" an experienced beekeeper takes care that everything is in order.

"The preservation of our nature and environment is very important for our future," said Helmut Graspointner, managing director of Spangler GmbH and passionate beekeeper for more than 10 years. He repeated an assumption which has frequently been made by scientists: In a world without bees our whole food chain will collapse. All the more HUBER is happy that the Huber-Natur-Park has been colonised by bees.
